I just read an interesting article in The Daily Tarheel called Sex and the Older Woman. The author asks the question “Should sexy stop at 60?” He then goes on to share the findings of a study conducted in 2009, which indicates nearly half of the women polled said they were having sex and loving it.
It seems as though everyone has an opinion or has conducted some type of study to determine what middle-aged women are feeling and the reasons why. Why does it matter what 50 or 60-year-old women are thinking about when it comes to sex? How does knowing the number of times I get it on with my husband in a week or month going to determine if I’m still qualified to be considered sexy? Maybe no other man is capable of doing what my husband can.
Once again, I believe this is the media’s way of trying to convince us that 50 is the new 30 so we can throw caution to the wind and behave like we did 20 and 30 years ago—well, some of us anyway.
