Introverts Make Great Radio Personalities

Read Time:49 Second

Many people think that you have to be an extrovert in order to do radio.  That’s because extroverts are people who tend to have high energy, talk a lot, like to be around people a lot, are outgoing, enthusiastic and like the spotlight.

But did you know that introverts also make good radio hosts? These are the people who:

  • Have quiet energy
  • Listen more than talk
  • Think quietly inside their heads
  • Think, then act
  • Have good powers of concentration
  • Prefer to focus on one thing at a time

Not every on air personality needs to have a “shock-jock” or in-your-face mentality.  Some of the best radio hosts around listen more than they talk and exuberate quiet energy while getting their message across.

To learn more about how to use radio to market yourself, please join me for a seminar “Gimme the Mic!” on Thursday, February 24 at The Center for Excellence in Raleigh.  You can register here:  http://gimmethemic.eventbrite.com

  1. Hmmm–I see what you’re saying here. I do get annoyed by arrogant loud mouth jocks who won’t let guests and callers say what they’ve got to say when it often sounds very interesting. A lot of these intrusive radio hosts have the agenda they want to push and don’t allow balance in their programs.
