Beverly Mahone is a veteran journalist, author, radio talk show host and motivational speaker who primarily talks about issues affecting middle-aged women.
Beverly graduated from Ohio University with a degree in journalism. Her career has taken her to West Virginia, Boston, New Hampshire, Saudi Arabia and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Then after spending more than 25 years in the radio and television news business, Beverly decided to “reinvent” herself by using her media expertise to create her own media consulting business: BAMedia. As a media trainer, she works with individuals on how create their own voice through the media.
Beverly also hosts her own radio and TV show called The Boomer Beat. The radio show airs Mondays from 12pm – 1pm on WCOM Radio in Carrboro, NC. The TV show airs Saturdays at 3pm on channel 18 in Durham, NC and 7pm on channel 8 in Chapel Hill-Carrboro.
She has been classified as a baby boomer expert by the news media and has been interviewed on Fox News, MSNBC, NPR Radio and featured in the New York Times Newspaper (6/7/07). She has also appeared as a guest and and co-host on My Carolina Today.
Beverly currently resides in North Carolina with her family. When’s she not helping someone else create their own voice in media, she’s busy helping her four-year-old grandson navigate his way through life.
She describes herself as a woman on the move with a passion for God and family. Her favorites are Psalms 121 and Philippians 4: 4-13 and her favorite poem is The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost.
